Thinking outside the box, within the box

Saw the photo on the upper left of a room covered in dramatic blue Delft-like tile but with space and light no original Delft tiled room ever had. Turns out its part of the Rem Koolhaas designed Casa Da Musica in Oporto Portugal. Classic tile coexists with minimal rough plywood, a baroque organ next to acrylic paneled box seating. By thinking outside the box, or in this case, within the box-like structure of the Casa Da Musica, Koolhaas broke the boundaries of time and conventional attitudes to create a breakthrough design.
