Homage to a Chocolate Salon

Behind a modest façade on Broome Street in Soho chocolate devotees find true happiness. Enter MarieBelle and the look is fin de siècle Vienna or Paris. You could tarry at the counters, where the colorfully packaged chocolates mimic the ornate elegance of the décor. I advise you to move on to the Cacao Bar and Tea Salon, a place to spend hours catching up with friends while contemplating the joys of the cacao bean. The staff is solicitous, taking visible delight in the oohs and ahhs their glorious concoctions generate. The Europeans have great chocolate salons, but MarieBelle on Broome Street is every bit as atmospheric, the chocolate every bit as intoxicating.
