All Crepes, All the Time

Of course crepes are a staple in most of France, but in Brittany they are an obsession. You eat them as main courses and dessert, in many cases as main course and dessert in the same meal. You can put anything inside one, from traditional sandwich stuffers to the most elaborate meat or fish dishes. For dessert, as long as it’s sweet you’ll find it served with crepes—sugar, Nutella, Grand Marnier flambé, fruits and syrups alone or in combination. And you must have your crepes with Breton cider in one of several levels of sweetness and potency. As it was throughout our trip, the food in Brittany was simple, cheap and delicious.
