The Test of Time

Returned to a home I designed a decade ago to refresh some rooms and was gratified by how pristine the homeowners keep it, and how well the interior design has aged. This is a corner of the formal dining room, featuring a delicate display cabinet that houses a porcelain collection. The walls are covered with Cole and Sons damask paper, and the swag and jabots on the windows are damask as well. Light pours into the room through the sheer panels, highlighting the detail walnut strip on the floor and the wood panels underneath the chair rail. This corner is a microcosm of the design as a whole, the disparate elements fitting together in perfect harmony. You can see other rooms in this home here.
