Louis XV in the XXIst Century

When Louis XV was roaming the halls of Versailles he had an army of servants to keep the fires going. A client decided she liked the style without the hassle. The interior design of her new home has four classic French Louis XV fireplaces–two made of wood and two of stone. All are powered by gas and all have the color and texture that make them as attractive and hypnotic as the wood-burning variety. Plus they don’t deplete the forests and produce fewer pollutants. This limestone hearth features a herringbone brick design inside, and the screen is old world antique gold mesh. You can enjoy it for five minutes or an entire evening, without a shred of ash or soot in sight.
