Designing From the Top Down

Creating interior design schemes that make larger spaces cozy and intimate is often a matter of choosing the correct paint colors. The key element driving the scheme of this family room is the brown ceiling color. It creates the perfect counterpoint to the room’s abundant light,  and the bright tones of the fabric and wall color choices.

  1. Catherine:
I saw Lynne and Lou’s new family room, and it is beautiful. Yes, I agree, the ceiling really made it all work together and the room feels much more intimate. Plus, with th orientation toward the fireplace and not the TV, it is lovely. Finally, I loved the dhurrie type fabric on the chairs; Soft like a chenille, but interesting like an old rug. Great job! Again!!!
