Chocolate Kitchen

I wanted the interior design of this guesthouse kitchen to have the feel of an idealized log cabin, so I chose chocolate brown painted bead board with a distressed glaze to cover the cabinets and fridge. The counter top is a Kashmir gold granite, with a backsplash in two different sizes of matte glass embedded in stone. The Oriental rug on the wood floor adds warmth and, along with the paisley wool valances, ties the room into the adjacent living area. The result combines Adirondack charm with an elegant sophistication. You can see more photos of this splendid home here.

  1. Hi, My husband and I love your kitchen. We are doing our counters in the kashmir gold. Can you please tell me more about the tile backsplash? We want to do something similar for our backsplash. We appreciate your help.

    Thank you.
