Away From it All

I wanted the interior design of this home on Lake George to be warm and comfortable, cozy yet able to entertain large family gatherings. The keys were texture, weight and pattern. The fabrics are heavy weights, and the carpet is thick, almost shag-like. Both the chairs and rugs use geometric patterns, their yellow and brown colors working with the knotty pine, stepped back beaded board and mahogany woodwork. Lantern sconces ring the double-hearth local stone fireplace, while the two simple chandeliers focus the eye on the richly textured woods. Looking out over the lake, the sense of peace and relaxation is supreme. You can see the rest of this impressive home here.
