A Flat Screen TV That Fits

The flat screen TV revolution has challenged interior designers to create elegant spaces for these ubiquitous entertainment centers. We completed a project last year that involved an addition to a lovely home in Maplewood. The flat screen in the new family room sits gracefully in the space between sconces. It fits the room perfectly, and the position above the fireplace and below the beamed ceiling creates just the right sense of proportion. To see more family rooms I’ve designed, click here.

  2. This room was part of an addition so we could put all the electrics into the wall. If you’re working with an existing room you would need to build a false wall in front of your fireplace wall and have all the electrics set into it. There are special brackets that you can use to hang the TV onto the wall. Good luck!
