In Praise of William Morris

The breadth of William Morris’ interests and accomplishments are extraordinary: artist, writer, publisher, pioneering socialist, environmentalist, and the most influential designer of the nineteenth century. His fabric and paper designs are as relevant today as they were 100 years ago. Few designers have stood the test of time as well. What is also remarkable is how flexible his designs are. I’ve used them in all manner of interior design schemes from classic to contemporary, and the effect is always the same. Clients feel like they’ve added a stunning piece of art to their home that happens to cover a window, wall or armchair.
