Here’s Looking at You…Cathy

Strolling through Conran’s, that great British home store, I noticed a small book section. Alongside the home design books was a series of classic paperbacks. The retro covers were intriguing, but then I looked closer. Emily Bronte’s Wuthering Heights, with an illustration of Humphrey Bogart, cigarette dangling from his lips. And the line “Here’s looking at YouCathy.” Substitute “kid” for Cathy and you have one of the greatest of all movie lines, from Casablanca. Next to this was Jane Austin’s Pride and Prejudice with the line “Lock Up Your DaughtersDarcy’s In Town!” I’d love to locate the original artwork, which would be perfect for the walls of book and movie fans. Like me.
