On the accessory trail…

Made my pilgrimage to the NY Gift Show last weekend. I’m always on the lookout for genuine, well-made accessories that have a story to tell, rather than the plastic, disposable junk that grows in volume by the year. The stand above is a good example of pieces made from natural materials—wood, glass, pottery—that are decorative, elegantly designed, authentic, and good value.

I love these flowers in tole (metal). They are crafted and painted entirely by hand, and signed as the works of art they are. Antiques in this tradition are very hard to find and very rare.
